    I bought it auto, and more or less stock, decided to drive it until I found parts for the 5spd swap, and as you can see above, I motivated myself to do the swap sooner by blowing up the tranny drifting around an autox event, 1st gear auto drifts FTW

    I'm sure there will be many more *****'s once I do the motor swap, I don't really care if people dislike what I do, I do it because I like it or it amuses me. Such as the exhaust, it makes me laugh, people ask me about it, and it backfires like a whore, it gives the car personality. That and it's only temporary untill the motorswap, needed something cost free for my trip down to h20 next week which is over 1100km's for me.

    Time for the swap I'd planned on doing since the summer, brought the car home with my old jetta and a tow rope, pulled the interior, dash, carpet (soaked from coolant) pull the faulty heatercore, pull everything out of the engine bay, delete the abs, shave all brackets, start to tuck some wires and prepare for the motor to come to move further.

    So far I've been collecting parts, heres the list of have and need:

    Doner car
    Mishimoto intercooler
    Custom intercooler piping
    Custom 3" downpipe with wastgate bung
    Custom trans mount
    Wiring harness
    Boost gauge
    Nissan brake master
    Nissan throttle cable

    Plan is to get the motor running smooth in the doner car (got it for 800.00 because it cranks but no start) and then throw it in the e30, make some motor mounts and a driveshaft and pull it back out to shave/ wire tuck and paint the engine bay.

    Hopefully I can get the motor in the e30 and running within the next week, then I'll get to work on painting the bay and putting everything back together.

    Well, a good bit of progress so far this weekend, and got lucky with some good help, beers, and some good pictures finally.

    I got the sr out of the doner car, and booted that car outside. So it was time to put the sr into the e30 for the first time.

    After much trying, we realised the transmission was far to long, and considering we couldn't get more angle with the engine leveler due to serious lack of safe lifting points on the sr, we improvised.

    Elevate the rear of the car, to bring the rad support down, while still leaving room for the tranny to snake under the tunnel.

    Turns out all my wiring was good except the one that signals the ignition to turn on and off. So, a quick change of that wire and it turns on and turns off properly.

    I dailyed the e30 for about a month, had a few problems due to po's neglect of the engine and trans, but got it sorted until the engine spun a bearing. So being frustrated, moving, and changing jobs I left the car alone for a while, saved some money etc.

    Well now I have be working my ass off, ordering/buying parts and doing work on the car, along with the help of good friends. Seem to be at the shop more then home these days.

    I've made a bunch of progress in everything, but haven't been able to finish anything due to parts hold up's

    So far I've stripped the engine bay of seam sealer, cut some holes, and welded some fresh metal in to get rid of dents/holes. Hopefully priming the bay tomorrow, fixing anything I missed and spraying the bay this week.

    I've Stripped, reinforced, and rust painted the front subframe, stripped the steering rack and swap bar and painted those too. Installed the tie rods, Installed, the control arms with the new offset bushings pressed in, so all of that is waiting
    to get put on, once the bay is painted.

    The engine has been disassembled and cleaned, along with painting all the parts ( some I will do once the block is
    assembled), I got my engine parts in the mail today, so tomorrow I will begin assembling the engine fully. I've picked colour for the bay and valvecover, which is sparkly red, because, who doesnt like sparkly red right? Turned out awesome on the valve cover so I'm excited to see how the bay will turn out.

    Finished dissembling and cleaning the engine out, and installed the "new" rods on the original pistons, along with plasti gauging the bearings and putting the crank in for good, tomorrow I'll install the piston rings, put them in the engine, and put the head etc on.

    Update

    So since I wanted to roll the car across the parking lot to my buddie's exhaust shop so he can help me weld up the engine bay (use a gasless flux core sucks ass) I had to make some suspension for the car to roll on. Obviously even something temporary still had to be low.

    Checking to make sure the tires wont rub after I welded the perches on.

    Update

    Well, I said I'd have some pics, but I ended up working on the car/motor more then taking pics. Good for me, bad for you Razz

    Here's a pic of the motor pretty well assembled, after this pic I installed the oil pickup, baffles and upper and lower pans, the new tstat and a few coolant housings. Then masked any openings I didnt want overspray on/in and sprayed the engine flat black, tomorrow I'll finish installing the manifolds etc and it will be pretty well ready to go in. I guess it's time to get my ass in gear on the bay.

    Tough crowd huh? Guess I'll make a thread in the showroom when it's finished up. But for now, on to some progress.

    Seem's like the bay has taken me the most time out of anything, beginning to regret the brilliant idea of filling some holes and making the bay a bit cleaner. But the prep is pretty well done, just got go over with fine sand paper, then spray base, followed by clear.

    Update

    Progress progress progress, it's all I care about at this point, wanting to drive it so badly. Cleared the bay again this morning, let it dry while I did my job. Then 5pm hit (or sometime at the end of the day haha), cracked a beer and got to work.

    Started putting the front end back together, threw in some shorter springs up front, modded the steering linkage for the e36 rack, installed front subframe/suspension again, installed brake booster, master, some wiring, SS brake lines up front (do the rears later) and redid the hardlines for the front to tidy it up by the master. (deleted abs when i originally did the swap and it left my lines looking rather crappy) It's all bled, pedal is rock hard so threw the wheels back on, and torqued them for the first time in a long time in anticapation of a test drive

    este es un proyecto de un canadiense, y en el foro en el que lo postearon, decian que para ellos un SR20DET es la forma mas barata de obtener HP's. pinche diferencia bien cabrona de este lado. LOL
